GLENDALE, AZ – The Arizona Rattlers continued their strong start to the 2025 season, handling the Northern Arizona Wranglers 49-20 in front of an energetic crowd at Desert Diamond Arena. Saturday's win saw Arizona's offense firing on all cylinders, while the defense locked down late to secure the team's fourth straight victory.
Early Momentum Sets the Tone
After an early exchange of touchdowns that had the game tied at 7-7, Arizona's offense quickly found its groove. Dalton Sneed led the charge, orchestrating a first-quarter surge that put the Rattlers ahead 21-14 by the end of the frame.
The Rattlers kept the pressure on in the second quarter. Sneed connected with Corey Reed Jr. for a touchdown and added a rushing score of his own, helping Arizona stretch the lead. A potential Wranglers touchdown late in the half was overturned on review, and the Rattlers took a 35-20 advantage into halftime.
Powell Sees First Action of Season
Quarterback Drew Powell made his first appearance of the year in the second half, providing another option for Arizona's attack. Powell helped extend the Rattlers' lead with a seven-yard touchdown pass to Shannon Brooks early in the third quarter, adding to a night where multiple players contributed to the offensive success.
Team Effort Seals the Win
The Rattlers finished strong on both sides of the ball. Shannon Brooks punched in two rushing touchdowns, totaling 22 rushing yards and 54 receiving yards. Corey Reed Jr. hauled in 71 receiving yards, with Yo'Heinz Tyler adding another 49. Isaiah Huston chipped in with a rushing touchdown as well.
Meanwhile, the defense clamped down in the second half, holding the Wranglers scoreless and forcing multiple stops to preserve the 49-20 final.
Arizona improves to 4-0 on the season and will look to carry the momentum into next week's matchup.
