GLENDALE, Arizona (October 27, 2025) – The Arizona Rattlers will hold their annual open tryout on Saturday, Nov. 29, in Glendale.
The tryout will be at Heroes National Park, 83rd Avenue and Bethany Home Road, not far from the Rattlers' home at Desert Diamond Arena.
The Rattlers have historically invited one or two players from the tryout to preseason camp with some earning a roster spot.
Defensive back Dillion Winfrey attended a tryout and made the Rattlers' 2019 roster. He had an immediate impact earning a spot on the All-IFL second team defense in his rookie season. He was the 2021 IFL Defensive Player of the Year when he recorded a league-leading 11 interceptions. He stayed with the team through the 2024 season and joined the coaching staff as a defensive backs coach last season.
Sawyer Petre was a kicker for two years with the Rattlers coming out of the tryout. Most recently, Autjoe Soe, a defensive back out of the University of Montana, made the 2025 squad and played the last eight games including the Rattlers' first-round playoff game.
Registration for the tryout begins at 8 a.m. The registration fee is $80. Players trying out must pay the fee in cash or with a money order.
