GLENDALE, AZ - On Saturday, May 18th, The Arizona Rattlers will host the 6-1 Bay Area Panthers in Glendale, Arizona, at Desert Diamond Arena at 6:05 PM. The Rattlers will look to extend their winning streak to four games. It will be no easy feat, as the Panthers opened the season winning their first five games, before suffering their first loss to the Vegas Knight Hawks.
Despite losing 41-47 in their first meeting of the season, the Rattlers will be on the hunt to flip the script, split the season series with the Panthers, and continue their climb up the Western Conference Standings.
Sharp Snakes
Since being named the starting quarterback against the Iowa Barnstormers on April 20th, Garrett Kettle has been a key factor in the team's successful turnaround. He has impressed by throwing for seven touchdowns, 415 yards, and zero interceptions in his three starts, putting other teams on notice. If Kettle starts, this will be his time to shine.
Alongside Kettle, running back Shannon Brooks has been performing well this season. In the last game against Tucson, he rushed 14 times for 77 yards and scored two touchdowns. Similarly, Glen Gibbons Jr. has been in great form this season and has significantly contributed to the team's success. If the Rattlers play defensively as they did in the last game, it will be tough for the Panthers offense.
What to Lookout For
Following a costly error late in the fourth quarter from Jamal Miles in their first matchup of the season, the Rattlers will look to rewrite their mistakes and make a statement win for the league to notice. The Rattlers will look to pressure Daquan Neal and force the quarterback into multiple mistakes, limiting his opportunities to give the ball to his best players. On offense, head coach Kevin Guy will look for Kettle to continue his form of success, and pick apart a passing defense that ranks 10th in the Western Conference.
