GAME PREVIEW: Rattlers Ready to Rumble Against Bay Area Panthers

Rattlers travel to San Jose, CA to face the Bay Area Panthers.

GLENDALE - On Sunday, March 31st, the Bay Area Panthers will be defending their championship title against the Arizona Rattlers at the SAP Center in San Jose, CA at 3:05 PM MST.

The Panthers emerged victorious in the 2023 IFL National Championship, defeating the Sioux Falls squad led by Quarterback Dalton Sneed.

The Rattlers, on the other hand, have been working hard to prepare for this upcoming match and the season ahead. They have been carefully developing several rookie players to strengthen their roster. This game is expected to be a challenging one for the Rattlers, but they are eager to take on the reigning champions and secure a win.

Looking Back

The Rattlers have a strong track record against the Panthers in conference games, having won three out of four matches. Although their performance on the road in San Jose has been mixed with one win and one loss, the Rattlers are determined to come out victorious in their second match on Bay Area turf this weekend.

Looking at their recent games, the Rattlers made a strong start to the 2024 season with a win. However, they faced a tough challenge in their highly anticipated home opener against Vegas last week. Quarterbacks Garrett Kettle (71) and Lorenzo Brown Jr. (120) threw for a total of 191 passing yards and touchdown scorers Huston, Miles, Brooks, and Gibbons assisted with putting numbers on the scoreboard. Defensive leaders Dillion Winfrey and Connor Taylor made 5 and 6 tackles, respectively but despite the team's efforts, the Rattlers suffered a hard-fought loss after Vegas executed a field goal in the last seconds of the game.

Keep an Eye Out

Coach Kevin Guy acknowledges that there is a significant amount of work needed to refine both the defense and offense of the team. The main goal is to foster the development of each player throughout the entire season. Despite the early challenges, some of the experienced players such as Jamal Miles have already scored four touchdowns by Week 3, showcasing their prowess on the field. Additionally, Connor Taylor has made a notable impact with eight solo tackles since the season opener, demonstrating his defensive strength and contribution to the team's performance.
