PREVIEW: RATTLERS TRAVEL TO PRESCOTT VALLEY TO BATTLE WRANGLERS IN SEASON-OPENER

The Arizona Rattlers kick off their 2024 season in Northern Arizona against the Wranglers.

GLENDALE, AZ -- On Saturday, March 16th at 6:05 PM MST, the Arizona Rattlers will kick off their season on the road against the Northern Arizona Wranglers at the Findlay Toyota Center in Prescott Valley.

Comeback Season

The Rattlers are determined to send a powerful message in the opening game of the 2024 season by defeating the Wranglers on their turf, seeking redemption for their previous playoff defeat. Despite finishing the 2023 season with the top seed in the Western Conference and a 11-5 record, the Rattlers fell short in the first round of playoffs against the Wranglers.

Since 2021, the Rattlers have maintained a strong record of 6-3 against the Wranglers, boasting a winning streak of 3 games. Notably, the Rattlers have never experienced back-to-back losses against the Wranglers.

Additionally, Coach Kevin Guy recently achieved his 250th win, making him the most successful coach in Rattler's History in both winning percentage and total wins.

Returning Rattlers

WR Jamal Miles caught 50 passes for 530 yards and scored 17 touchdowns in 2023. Additionally, he contributed 200 rushing yards and 8 touchdowns, showcasing the versatility valued by Rattler's supporters.

OL Lamar Mady is set to embark on his eighth season with the Arizona Rattlers. Throughout his tenure, Mady has garnered numerous awards, notably securing three first-team All-IFL Honors from 2017 to 2019, along with three second-team All-IFL Honors in 2021, 2022, and 2023. In the 2023 season, Mady played a crucial role in the team's top-ranked offense in the IFL, contributing significantly to the offensive line and ground attack that resulted in 53 touchdowns and over 1,200 yards.

Key Returners: DL Seyvon Lowry, WR Isaiah Huston, DL Harold Love, LB Connor Taylor, DB Davontae Merriweather, DB Dillion Winfrey.

Reinforcements

The Rattlers signed quarterback Dalton Sneed, an Arizona native, previously played for the IFL's top-ranked offense last season. This upcoming season will mark Sneed's third year in the IFL, following his time as the starting quarterback for the Bay Area Panthers in 2023. During his tenure with the Panthers, he led the team to victory in the 2023 IFL Championship.

New Turf

The Rattlers have officially moved their games, practices, and events to the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, AZ, marking the end of their 32-year tenure at the Footprint Center in downtown Phoenix. According to Rattlers owner Ron Shurts, Glendale is now considered the football capital of Arizona.
