PHOENIX - The Arizona Rattlers are fresh off a bye week looking to get their second straight victory on the road. In their last game, a last-second pick-six by Seyvon Lowry sealed the deal for a wild win in Tulsa.
This week, the Rattlers will travel to Vegas to take on a Western Conference foe in the Vegas Knight Hawks. Arizona is currently 3-3 which puts them in the 4th seed in the West while Vegas is 2-4 which has them tied for last in the West with Duke City, but still just 2 games back from the 4-2 top-seeded Panthers and Wranglers.
Western Conference Battle
This matchup will be instrumental in the Western Conference playoff race, as the Rattlers try to gain ground in a tight race from top to bottom.
In the coaches poll, Arizona ranks 8th while Vegas dropped to number 11 after dropping their last two games. The Knight Hawks have dropped four of their past five games after winning their season opener against the Iowa Barnstormers.
The Rattlers have faced the Knight Hawks twice in franchise history, both times last year during their inaugural season. Arizona defeated Vegas both times, including a 67-20 victory in Vegas last April. In their second meeting, Arizona took care of business 49-31 at home in their regular-season finale.
Returning Rattlers
Three-time MVP
Drew Powell is set to make his return for the Rattlers, as he is cleared to play. He's not the only notable returning Rattler, as All-IFL 1st Team wideout
Braxton Haley is also expected to return from the injured reserve.
The Arizona Rattlers also announced that they signed veteran OL
Lamar Mady, who is entering his seventh season with the franchise. Mady's return along with Powell and Haley bolsters the Rattlers on the offensive side of the football.
Arizona looks to improve to 4-3 before returning home to the Footprint Center after this 3-game road trip.
