PROFESSIONAL
William Fields is entering his second season in the AFL, both with the Rattlers.  Fields signed with the Rattlers halfway through the season on May 3^rd, 2007.  He played in seven remaining games, starting in each, and finishing third on the team in tackles with 42.5.  He added half a sack, finished tied for second on the team with two interceptions and had eight pass breakups.  Played for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the CFL from 2005-2006.  In 2006, Fields played in two games and made six tackles.  In 2005 for the Blue Bombers, recorded 45 tackles, seven pass knockdowns, four interceptions and one tackle for a loss. His four interceptions were second on the team. Fields was singled out for his play in a 14-12 loss to Edmonton in Week 4 by being selected the Rogers CFL Defensive Player of the Week.  He had two interceptions, three tackles and one pass knockdown in the game.  Signed on with the Blue Bombers after playing with the CFL’s Calgary Stampeders from 2001-2004.  In 2004 with the Stampeders, Fields played in 12 regular season games and compiled a total of 28 tackles and four knockdowns.  In 2003, Fields played in 17 regular season games and finished third on the team with 52 defensive tackles. He also collected eight pass knockdowns, two interceptions for 56 yards and one quarterback sack.  Fields played in all 18 regular season games in the 2002 season. He had a total of 48 defensive tackles, two interceptions for 69 yards and eight pass knockdowns.  In 2001, his first with the Blue Bombers, Fields played in all 18 regular season games plus two playoff games and the Grey Cup. He finished the season with 41 defensive tackles, 11 pass knockdowns and five interceptions for 181 yards including one for 110 yards. He also had two fumble returns for seven yards.

COLLEGE
Played for the University of Houston Cougars, where he was a four-year starter.  He recorded 138 defensive tackles, broke up 28 passes and had three interceptions in his career.  During his senior season in 1999, Fields played in 11 games, recorded 24 tackles, one for a loss, six pass break-ups, and a fumble recovery.
